Reigning two-time ASP World Champion Mick Fanning arrived in Kuala Lumpur,

Team Jayco SKINS wins Stage 1 of Le Tour de Langkawi
March 2010

It’s a great start to March 2010 for Team Jayco SKINS, with Michael Matthews winning Stage 1 of Le
Tour de Langkawi. Matthews took out the stage in a strong bunch sprint following the completion of
174.5 kilometres from Kota Behru to Kuala Berang in Malaysia. Matthews now holds the yellow
leaders jersey going into Stage 2.
Sports Director for Cycling at SKINS, Benjamin Fitzmaurice said, “This is a tough tour with the
humidity and the course profile. There are a lot of ups and downs which can take a toll on the riders
and this win comes from a quality field which includes several Pro Tour teams such as Footon-Servetto (ESP), Italian Pro-Continental team ISD-Neri (ITA), American Continental team Kelly Benefit
Strategies (USA) and the dominant Australian Continental team, Drapac Porsche Cycling (AUS).This
is a fantastic result for Michael and a good start to his cycling season
after two podium positions at the Australian National Championships and his
win in stage 4 of the Tour of Wellington.Michael is shaping up to be a
sprint leader of the future with his strength and top end |

speed. He’s also a fierce competitor, which
complements the SKINS philosophy and spirit and the new SKINS C400 cycle
system.”
Stage 2 of the Tour de Langkawi is a relatively flat stage covering 182
kilometres from Kuala Terengganu to Chakai. This course should favour the
sprinters, including Matthews, and Team Jayco SKINS will be working hard to
protect Matthews overall lead in order to retain the yellow jersey going
into Stage 3.

HTC-Columbia’s Roger Claims Overall Victory in Spain

HTC-Columbia’s Michael Rogers successfully fended off attacks in the final day's racing of the Tour of
Andalusia to clinch the overall victory. A long break including overall threat Angel Vicioso of Spain was only caught 20 kilometres from the
finish line. Chasing down the move was made much difficult because three HTC-Columbia riders,Konstantsin Sivtsov, Michael Albasini and Hayden Roulston, all crashed mid-stage. Rogers was
delighted with his first stage race win since 2003, saying "It was a pretty tough day but the team were
super and we never panicked." Further information | Benjamin Fitzmaurice | Skins International Trading AG | Sennweidstrasse 43 | 6312 Steinhausen | T: +41 (0) 415005510 | E:

riders, won by Spain's Francisco Ventoso. Overall, the former World Time Trial Champion finished
with a 19-second advantage over Jurgen Van Den Broeck of Belgium, with Spain's Sergio Pardilla in
third. "The crash made things more difficult, although in the end it all worked out and I got third on the
stage as well. So I'm very pleased."

HTC-Columbia’s André Greipel battles the weather to
win in the Tour of the Algarve February 2010

HTC-Columbia's André Greipel powered through heavy rainfall and tough
terrain to take a spectacularvictory and the race lead in Stage 2 of the
Tour of the Algarve in Portugal."It was a really difficult stage, more than
200 kilometers long, six and a half hours of riding through terrible
weather, and on top of that there were some hard climbs and a difficult
uphill finish as well,"said HTC-Columbia sports director Tristan Hoffman.
"The other teams worked flat out to drop thesprinters, but André hung on and
came through in the final. It wasn't really a sprint at the end,
because everybody was so exhausted. But he didn't give up and came through
for the victory. "Greipel himself said that he had not been on a good day,
but with strong encouragement from his HTC-Columbia teammates, he managed to
get through. “My teammates were constantly telling me not to give up, and to
keep trying, even though I thought I couldn't last because most of the day I
felt terrible. Then when we managed to pull back the last guy from the break
very close to the finish, and I went for it.”
“We expected a lot more attacks, but because the
conditions were so hard everybody was dead and that didn't happen. Then in
the last 200 meters, when the climb steepened to about 15 percent, I finally
went clear and got the win.” Greipel said he was pleased but surprised he
had managed to succeed, and take the leader's jersey as well. “I never
thought I'd be able to hang on for so long, over all those climbs. Okay,
this race isn't the Tour de France, but it's still a special win, one I feel
very proud of taking.”
